Gulkevichsky Butter Factory is located in the town of Gulkevichi in Krasnodar region and became a part of the Wimm-Bill-Dann production and trade in the beginning of 2002.
Gulkevichsky Butter Factory was put into operation in 1948. The plant’s capacity then was ten tons of milk per shift. In the 1950s and 1960s the factory was reconstructed several times, built up and gradually expanded. In 1969 and 1970, a general reconstruction and expansion of the plant was undertaken. During the period 1975 to 1995 several stages of reconstruction took place. In 1995 the factory started to produce sour cream, curds, butter, ryazhenka, kefir and pasteurized milk.
In 1997, the factory was privatized and the production of processed milk fell to 60 tons a day and then to 12 per day. By the beginning of 2002, the volume of processing fell to six tons.
In order to produce high-quality products it was necessary to undertake a general reconstruction of the building and plant and obtain new equipment.
But due to a lack of funding, it was decided to stop production of finished products. Today the plant specializes in the receiving, chilling and delivery of milk for Timashevski Dairy Plant (TMK).
