Baltic Milk Dairy Factory OJSC is located in St Petersburg and became a part of the Wimm-Bill-Dann production and trade group in August 2000.
The factory was launched in 1987 and is one of the newest and most technically equipped dairy enterprises in St Petersburg. In 2003, four new packaging lines for the production of milk products were installed at the enterprise and in 2004 an automatic packaging machine was launched for the production of whipped curd desserts. In the same year, a new receiving and raw material line equipped with the latest technology was put into operation.
Baltic Milk produces a wide range of dairy products, including pasteurized milk, sour cream, kefir, yogurt, ryazhenka, butter and curds. Consumers are offered products under such trademarks as ‘Bio Max’, ‘Little House in the Village’, ‘Happy Milkman’, ‘Doctor Bifi’, ‘Neo’ (Magitel, Immunelle, Bio-Bit, JoyFit), ‘Wonder’, ‘Frugurt’, ‘Ginger Up’, ‘Agusha’ and many others. The product range is constantly being expanded. The latest new products to come out of the factory include: Happy Milkman and Ginger Up glazed curds with biscuits, round glazed curd cheese ‘Happy Little Ball’, Happy Milkman whipped curds, Bio Max sour cream and Happy Milkman and Bio Max bio-kefir.
A project to automate the storage of finished production was implemented at the factory in 2005. The storage complex is managed by a special computer system. Shelves, pallets and boxes with finished products are labeled with strip codes. Radio terminals, which provide assignments for operators, are installed on the fork-lifts.
In 2005 a factory store and cafe were opened. There one can buy products from Baltic Milk and other WBD enterprises at special low prices.
The main training institution for Baltic Milk OJSC is the St Petersburg University for Low Temperature and Food Technologies, where students gain production experience at the enterprises. The main professional areas include: equipment technician, automatic line operator, chemical analysis laboratory work, packer, driver-expeditor and fork-lift driver.
